We are committed to providing advice and support to members of staff who have child or elder care responsibilities. All staff have access to the Carer Lead, and HR Manager, who is able to provide information on local care provisions and point staff in the right direction for further help and advice.
There is an on site Tops Day Nursery, open 6.45am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. They provide a nursery for 88 children aged 0 - 5 years and a play club for 40 children aged 5 – 11 years, which is open every school holiday. Tops also provide a baby sitting service and emergency childcare when usual arrangements breakdown. Staff on maternity leave are invited to coffee mornings, held a few times a year, to keep in touch and also receive copies of Buzzword, the staff news magazine.
The Trust provides childcare voucher facilities in conjunction with SayCare Pass: www.saycarevouchers.co.uk
The government initiative is designed to help working parents pay for childcare. Part of the salary is converted into vouchers meaning staff can save on tax and national insurance contributions.The Trust has policies in place to support staff at challenging times for example, flexible working, carer’s leave and parental leave. We can also provide information on maternity, paternity and adoption leave as well as choosing childcare and tax credits.
